I’m thrilled to be celebrating Twelve Days of Kindness with Debbie Macomber in anticipation of her newest Christmas story, Twelve Days of Christmas. On each day of the twelve days leading up to the October 4th release of the book, a different blogger will feature a small kindness they’ve performed or plan on performing. I loved this idea and immediately jumped at the chance to participate!

If you know me, then it’s no surprise that I LOVE books. One of my favorite things is sharing that love of books with everyone I can. Bookish Devices is a great outlet for allowing my book nerdiness to shine through 🙂 But what I love more than sharing reviews is gifting other readers books. I’ve gifted countless books and will continue to do so because there is no greater joy than giving and receiving books! The connections I’ve made with other readers over the shared love of reading are priceless. Share your love of books with friends. Gift them or even let them borrow a copy of your favorite book! You might make a connection that will change your life.

Thank you for stopping at Bookish Devices today! Before you leave, please check out my review of Twelve Days of Christmas.

The main character in Debbie Macomber’s newest Christmas story, Twelve Days of Christmas is Julia. She’s a blogger and I’m a blogger! I was immediately drawn to this story because of Julia. I had high hopes for this story surrounding a favorite time (Christmas) and a favorite hobby (blogging).

Julia Padden likes nearly everyone, but her standoffish neighbor, Cain Maddox, presents a challenge. No matter how hard she’s tried to be nice, Cain rudely rebuffs her every time. She’s determined to break through Cain’s Scrooge-like exterior by killing him with kindness. To track her progress with Cain, Julia starts a blog called The Twelve Days of Christmas.

This sweet love story, surrounding the holiday season was an easy, quick afternoon read and lived up to the hopes I had for it. I loved it most because of Julia’s blog idea. In a world filled with so much hate, it was nice to see Julia want to reach out and try to make Cain happy with her random acts of kindness. If you’ve read Macomber before it won’t surprise you that Julia feels herself falling for Cain or that he falls for her as well. There are of course issues getting to happily ever after but I found their love story believable although a bit rushed. I was happy with the ending, finding closure with each character’s story.

Overall, this is a fantastic story for the holiday season. Grab your copy, sit down with cup of hot cocoa and enjoy.
