Ten Authors One Question: Volume Three Love and Petrichor

In the third installment of our Ten Questions @ Book Expo America special event, we begin to sense a theme and learn what petrichor is. Featuring ten more authors including Tahere Mafi, Jill Shalvis, Alexandra Bracken, and Emily Giffin. Instead of our usual author Q&A we’ve asked the authors we’ve spoken to at BEA to answer one simple question:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORD? Continue reading “Ten Authors One Question: Volume Three Love and Petrichor”

Audiobook Review: A Necessary End by Holly Brown

I chose this audiobook based solely on the narrator. I fell in love with Khristine Hvam when I first listened to her narration of Daughter and Smoke and Bone a few years ago and this might be the 5th or 6th book I’ve bought just to listen to her narrate. She makes me enjoy just about any type of book I listen to and I’ve never been disappointed yet! But this book was even better – a happy surprise where the plot was great and surprising at every turn. Combined with Hvam’s narration it made for a wonderful overall experience. A newbie’s perspective and guide to BEA

Phew! I’m back from BEA and so exhausted from everything that went into trying to not miss a single second of the show. It was basically go-go-go at all times Wednesday through Friday but I regret nothing…especially as I look at my amazing book haul and even better pictures! Book Expo America 2016: Friday Recap

Day three at BEA was, if it’s even possible, filled with more books than the days before. It began with mad dashes to the Maggie Stiefvater  and Emily Giffin signing lines and ended with a lazy final stroll through the sadly emptying exhibition hall with what feels like a million books sandwiched between. Continue reading “Book Expo America 2016: Friday Recap”

Book Expo America 2016: Thursday Recap

Day two at BEA was all around amazing! Starting with the perfect parking spot (seriously the most convenient spot ever) and ending with us fangirling with one of our favorite authors while we were all in line to meet Jodi Picoult the entire day was one wonderful experience after another. Continue reading “Book Expo America 2016: Thursday Recap”

Book Expo America 2016: Wednesday Recap

The day may have started off foggy and gray here in Chicago but that didn’t put a damper on our excitement for the start of Book Expo America! Continue reading “Book Expo America 2016: Wednesday Recap”

Book Review: Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein

Title: Never Sweeter

Author: Charlotte Stein

Rating: 2 Very conflicted Stars

Reviewer: Melinda

This book is in the New Adult genre, which is unusual for Stein, as she usually writes more straight forward adult romances. But I am a fan of NA and of Charlotte Stein so I was excited to read this one. To be honest I didn’t even read the synopsis because I like her writing so much – she writes so beautifully and with an erotic edge to it.  Continue reading “Book Review: Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein”

Sharpen Those Pencils and Break Out the Crayons, it’s Coloring Book Time!

While the adult coloring book fad isn’t exactly new, that doesn’t stop us from getting excited about one of our favorite pastimes. Tiny books, large collections, literary based, abstract art, books for all ages, and some definitely not for kids–we love them all! Continue reading “Sharpen Those Pencils and Break Out the Crayons, it’s Coloring Book Time!”
