This the companion book to Julie Murphy’s hit book Dumplin’, which is soon to be a movie, a book I loved. We’ve already met both main characters of Puddin’ in the previous book so it’s nice to have everything already established for us and get to jump right in. What’s great is you don’t have to read the first book to get what’s happening – either way you would be completely fine with your point of entry, and that is really important to have and I appreciate that the author was able to manage that here. Some books just FEEL important as you’re reading them. And this is one of those books. But what I love about this book is that it’s also really easy to read and it flew by as I was listening to it. I loved it so much and I can’t even put into words how great it was. It’s funny, touching, beautiful, and incredibly well-written. I’m just going to leave the synopsis below and say that I truly think everyone should read this book and I’m so happy that it’s doing so well!! But I am a fan of NA and of Charlotte Stein so I was excited to read this one. To be honest I didn’t even read the synopsis because I like her writing so much – she writes so beautifully and with an erotic edge to it.
