Audiobook Review: Shotgun Angels by Jay DeMarcus with Timothy D. Willard

I have loved Rascal Flatts from the moment I heard their first song, “Prayin’ For Daylight,” back in 2000. Nineteen years later, I’ve seen the group in concert 10+ times and love them still. The first time I heard about this book, I knew I had to read it. I had no idea I would walk away as if I had just been to church. That I would walk away full of hope. This was not what I expected but in the very best way. Continue reading “Audiobook Review: Shotgun Angels by Jay DeMarcus with Timothy D. Willard”

Audiobook Review: Leaning Into Love by Lane Hayes/Narrated by Seth Clayton

Leaning into Love was first released as part of It Was Always You Anthology; I never read that one, but I love a good friends-to-lovers trope and I generally enjoy Lane Hayes’ works, plus I really enjoy audiobooks. I’ve been going through them left and right lately so I was excited to listen to this one. Continue reading “Audiobook Review: Leaning Into Love by Lane Hayes/Narrated by Seth Clayton”

Book Review: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Some books just FEEL important as you’re reading them. And this is one of those books. But what I love about this book is that it’s also really easy to read and it flew by as I was listening to it. I loved it so much and I can’t even put into words how great it was. It’s funny, touching, beautiful, and incredibly well-written.  I’m just going to leave the synopsis below and say that I truly think everyone should read this book and I’m so happy that it’s doing so well!!  Continue reading “Book Review: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas”

Audio Book Review: Norse Mythology

Neil Gaiman wrote a new book. That was pretty much all I need to know before making a buying decision but, even though it was an instabuy, I didn’t expect it to leave me wondering if this was the perfect audiobook. Continue reading “Audio Book Review: Norse Mythology”

Book Review: A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

* Click click click* That’s the sound of me buying everything Fredrik Backman has written. I know I’m late to the game having just read A Man Called Ove but I’m going to ask forgiveness by saying that everyone who told me to read it was right–so very right. Continue reading “Book Review: A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman”

Holy Freaking OMG – Lin-Manuel Miranda Narrated an Audiobook!

I don’t think I’ve squealed about Hamilton and Lin-Manuel Miranda or any of the amazing cast members here (that needs to be corrected shortly!), but I’m kind of obsessed with it. So much so that when I discovered that Lin had narrated a YA book previously I had to rush out to listen to it as quickly as possible. Even better is that the book turned out to be really well written with amazing characters so BONUS! Continue reading “Holy Freaking OMG – Lin-Manuel Miranda Narrated an Audiobook!”

Book Review: As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes

I’ve been in a bit of a book slump so I had no idea what I was going to write about for this week’s blog post, but then I woke up this morning to an email from Audible highlighting As You Wish by Cary Elwes as today’s Daily Deal and my decision was made. Continue reading “Book Review: As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes”
