BookExpo 2017: Books, authors, crowds, and more books

It’s early June and I have bruises on my shoulders from carrying tote bags full of books–it must be BookExpo season! This year’s BookExpo was a bit different than it has been the last few years, and not just because they dropped the “America” from their name Continue reading “BookExpo 2017: Books, authors, crowds, and more books”

A Change of Heart by Sonali Dev: A Book Review, Blog Tour, Giveaway, Interview, and an Umm Interesting Conversation

This post is going to be on the long side so I’m going to do away with the catchy intros and just jump right in. This week Melinda and Jessica are participating in the blog tour for A Change of Heart by one of their favorite authors, Sonali Dev. We’ve got a silly story of two bloggers, a review, an interview with the author, and, if you make it all the way to the end, a giveaway! Fun right! We think so 🙂  Continue reading “A Change of Heart by Sonali Dev: A Book Review, Blog Tour, Giveaway, Interview, and an Umm Interesting Conversation”

Ten Authors One Question: Volume Four

In the final installment of our Ten Questions @ Book Expo America special event, we feature ten more authors including David Levithan, Marissa Meyer, and Gayle Forman plus a bonus extra from Justin Cronin! Instead of our usual author Q&A we’ve asked the authors we’ve spoken to at BEA to answer one simple question:

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORD? Continue reading “Ten Authors One Question: Volume Four”

In the third installment of our Ten Questions @ Book Expo America special event, we begin to sense a theme and learn what petrichor is. Book Expo America 2015 Day Three Recap: So Many Books

The last day of Book Expo America was supposed to be a light day for me book wise. I planned on attending several signings and not picking up too many more books. Well that plan went out the window about five minutes after the floor opened. Continue reading “Book Expo America 2015 Day Three Recap: So Many Books”

Book Expo America 2015 Day Two Recap: Books Moving to the Top of My TBR List

Although there were times I wondered if standing in all these lines was worth it (crazy weird trying to cut in front of me guy in line for Kunal Nayyar I’m looking at you) I had another great day at Book Expo America. Continue reading “Book Expo America 2015 Day Two Recap: Books Moving to the Top of My TBR List”

Book Expo America 2015 Day One Recap: A Few of My Favorite Things

The first day of Book Expo America 2015 is officially over and, for me at least, it was a pretty good one. I made it home tired, sore, and with enough books to make my TBR list explode–and I can’t wait to do it again tomorrow! Continue reading “Book Expo America 2015 Day One Recap: A Few of My Favorite Things”

BEA/BookCon Goodies 2014

Here are a few pics of my Book Expo/BookCon finds. Add to this about 10 tote bags, 5 pins (Star Wars and Book of Life), A copy of Diana Bishop’s Commonplace Book (another promo from The Book of Life), a t-shirt for The Silkworm (the new Robert Galbrath/JK Rowling book), and a few posters I’d say I had a pretty good haul. It could have been about twice this much but I was trying to be more selective about books I collected this year. Continue reading “BEA/BookCon Goodies 2014”

Revisiting Wonderful Book Memories–The Baby-Sitters Club

When I saw that Ann M. Martin was going to be appearing at Book Expo America/Book Con this week the little girl in me let out a shout of excitement. When I was in elementary school these were my absolute favorite books. I read them all over and over, even when I was really just a bit to old for them. Maybe this explains my adult love for YA novels? Continue reading “Revisiting Wonderful Book Memories–The Baby-Sitters Club”
