Dottie and I teamed up several weeks ago to review The Things We Keep by Sally Hepworth. We’ve teamed up again to bring you a review of Lisa Lutz’s latest, The Passenger. Sit back, check out our thoughts and then go buy the book. Dottie and I think you’ll love it.

Dottie’s review ~

From the first chapter I knew this was going to be a thrilling read. “Tanya”, on the run after the accidental (is it really?) death of her husband, takes us on a journey of survival as she changes identities in order to run from her past and hopes to secure a future for herself. It’s hard to review this without revealing spoilers, so let me just say that there are so many twists and turns that you’ll be left breathless. The characters and dialog are superb! I couldn’t stop reading out of pure curiosity to see what Lisa Lutz had in store for the main character, and believe me; it’s thrilling up until the very end.  I’ve found a new author to enjoy thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster!

Jennifer’s review ~

My first Lutz novel and it did not disappoint!

The Passenger opens with Tanya Dubois leaving her husband’s dead body at the base of the stairs and fleeing town. It’s not the first time she’s had to flee. She’s been running for years. Why? That’s the big mystery and Lutz does a great job of teasing the reader about what happened in the past. All the while keeping Tanya’s current story interesting as well. She meets interesting individuals along the way who eventually lead her back home and the answers she’s been running from for years.

The Passenger is a great, fast-paced read for the fan of a good mystery. This reader is off to add other Lutz books to her TBR.
