We’re packing our bags, making our wish lists, and drinking gallons of coffee all in preparation for what is sure to be a bookworm’s dream–Book Expo America! For the rest of this week Melinda, Dottie, and I will be blogging from McCormick Place, Chicago the home of BEA 2016.
Each day we’ll be posting a recap here on Bookish Devices but if you’d like to see our full coverage follow us on Facebook and Twitter (twitter will have the most coverage so we highly recommend following us there). We’ll be posting pictures from the event, information about upcoming releases, and other fun things!
While we’re all excited to be at the show and to spend some quality in-person time together (the Bookish Ladies are scattered across four states), we’re also fangirls and have a few author and book wish lists for the week. Here’s a peek at what we’re most looking forward to:
Melinda
I’m looking forward to Marissa Meyer, Jodi Piccoult and Lauren Oliver the most author wise. I can’t wait to see all the random bookish booths like Litograph. But I’m mainly excited about getting to be super nerdy about books with my book friends 🙂
Dottie
I’m most looking forward to the Bookreporter Book Group Speed Dating session because all of the books will be a surprise! For authors I’m excited for Elin Hilderbrand, Jodi Piccoult, and Marcia Clark. Most of all I can’t wait to have fun with Melinda and Jess, and see a little of Chicago!
Jess
Like Dottie, I’m definitely excited for the Speed Dating session, that one is always so interesting and full of unexpected surprises. I’ll be stalking galleys of A Change of Heart, The Velvet Hours, Not Just Jane, and The Bookshop on the Corner to name a few. I wish I had more of a list but I’m woefully unprepared and will be spending the flight going over the schedule. I think what I’m most looking forward to this year is hanging out with the other ladies and finding some great books I never knew I’d love.
Are you going to BEA? What are you most looking forward to? Are you following the coverage from home? Chat with us in the comments and let us know what questions you have or news you’re looking for–we’ll see if we can find out anything for you.
