Tijan is the queen of what I would consider New Adult drama and her newest is no different! I define NA by what the characters are going through and dealing with so while the main character in question here may be in high school I felt like everything taken into consideration meant this has a more NA than Young Adult feel to it.
What kind of drama can you expect from a Tijan book? Check out the summary below.
I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should’ve left…
I didn’t.
I didn’t jump out.
I didn’t get embarrassed.
I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.
I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.
The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could’ve stayed forever, I would have.
He became my sanctuary.
Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.
But I am HERE for the drama. Sometimes I just in the mood for that, especially when you know going into it that’s what you’re going to get with the book before you even start. I enjoyed this book for all the high drama flair because it was balanced with this really nice comforting edge to it. The comfort part reminded me of her Fallen Crest series because there is a couple at the center that is pretty screwed up but they are just *there* for each other and who doesn’t love that?
