Having read Julie Garwood’s For the Roses, an absolutely wonderful book, many years ago, I forgot that she also wrote sequels which continued with the Clayborne brothers after they’d grown.
So this is one of the very few re-reads that I have done, and I’m very glad that I did. One Pink Rose tells the story of the youngest brother, Travis. Handsome and rugged, this cowboy only answers to his beloved Mama who asks him to escort a young woman across the Montana countryside to her (mail order) husband-to-be. As expected in romance novels, Emily and Travis at first butt heads in confrontation, but eventually realize that they are crazy for each other. Such good chemistry! This was a short but very sweet tale of a damsel in distress and her hero, written with plenty of humor. Even though it was predictable, I couldn’t put it down. I’d forgotten just how much I enjoyed Julie Garwood’s romances. I think this calls for a re-read of the entire series!
Thanks to Netgalley for this advanced copy. One Pink Rose is a re-release that was originally published in 1997.
