Caroline Hammond discovers her husband is having an affair. Does it sting a bit more because that affair is with another man? I think so. This revelation forces Caroline to question her entire relationship with her husband, Adam.
Results May Vary is well written but didn’t evoke a lot of emotion. I didn’t laugh, I didn’t cry. Nothing! To earn a 4 or 5-star rating from this reviewer, you have to make me feel something. Ms. Chase didn’t do that for me in this novel. Caroline came across as fake. A little too unemotional, a little too together despite the circumstances she finds herself in. I kept trying to put myself in her shoes. What would I feel if this happened to me? In no instance did I think “I would have done that too!” I couldn’t relate to Caroline at all. I did like Caroline’s sister and best friend and wish the story here had been theirs rather than them being secondary characters. I found them a lot more interesting.
In the end, I liked this book. But it’s probably not a book I would grab to read again. I did want to know what would happen to Caroline and Adam. Could they fix their problems? Or would they move on? These questions are answered and the book does have a satisfying ending.
