The best things in life are free, and you have a chance to win a book on Amazon. This is my day off from writing a review.
It’s finals week, work is getting busy, my home is a wreck, it’s my day to write a book review… what’s a gal to do? To do a contest instead! Here’s the deal–
Post in the comments below telling me about your favorite way to play hooky from life by reading. Sure, it can be simply to stop doing everything and read, but have you ever built a pillow fort and hid in there to read? Rode your bike to the park and found a quiet tree to sit under to read? What type of books or specific titles are your go-to’s when you’re trying to escape from your own grown-up responsibilities?
One lucky commenter will win a book(s) from Amazon worth up to $15!
Okay, you all have fun with your comments and I wish you all luck. I’ll be shirking my responsibilities by climbing into my comfy bed and read until I fall asleep tonight.
Thanks to Jess for handing over her format so I didn’t have to think this through.

I’m not entering but I wanted to say this is such a post an answer to your questions. My favorite way to play hooky is reading. No shocker there, right? I never have built a fort or gone off and found that perfect tree to lean against and read. I love the quiet of my house, curled up in my recliner with the next book on my TBR ready on my Kindle.

I totally agree. I have been a reader from “forever”. I love to escape into a good book and I usually have classic music playing and a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of water by my side. I read mostly Jane Austen Fan Fiction nowadays but do love a good mystery/detective story, a good historical novel or even some biographies. I have read hundreds of historical romances and am now also reading Outlander but then want to read the Poldark series. I don’t read self-help books. I have hundreds on books listed on my “Wish List” and I do take books off that pile every now and then but the books I add seem to outnumber those I take up and read. I read at my computer, or in my favorite armchair or in my bedroom on my rocking chair before retiring at night.

My favorite way to escape in a book even when escape from every day worries isn’t truly possible is listening to an audio book. I listen while walking, cooking ,cleaning, ironing and in my car. Ironically when it come to relaxing and reading I cannot sit and listen to an audio book .Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy is my current audio book. My escape is with the very disfuntional Wingo family brought to life by the wonderful voice of Frank Muller.
