I did not like Catching Christmas as much as I thought I would.

Sydney Batson, a first-year law associate, is in court on a tough case. So when her grandmother gets inexplicably ill while she’s in court, Sydney arranges for a cab to get her to the clinic. Enter Finn Parris, cab driver. Miss Callie reminds him of his own mother, so he can’t say no when she keeps calling him for rides.

I really loved the interactions between Finn and Callie! I loved Finn’s tender heart but also his honest “I can’t believe I have to do this!” attitude. I liked and disliked Sydney at the same time. I couldn’t believe she would put her work above her family. But I could see both sides and how torn she was. What I didn’t love was feeling like Blackstock threw Sydney and Finn together and finished the book as fast as she could after they were a couple. That’s not cool in my opinion. Give them time because I wasn’t feeling any chemistry between the two.

A pleasant enough Sunday afternoon read for those readers out there looking for a quick holiday escape story.

My thanks to the publisher for the advanced copy of this book.
