I know when I pick up a Colleen Hoover book I’m going to FEEL and that was definitely the case with Regretting You.

Morgan Grant is determined to prevent her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, from making the same mistakes she did. With warring personalities and conflicting goals, Morgan and Clara find it increasingly difficult to coexist. The only person who can bring peace to the household is Chris—Morgan’s husband, Clara’s father, and the family anchor. When peace in the household is shattered, the heartbreaking and long-lasting consequences are far reaching.

One of my favorite things about this book was that we not only got Clara’s story, but we got Morgan’s story as well. Each character is well drawn and believable. Another of my favorite things about Regretting You was that it held a little bit of everything from romance, to mystery, to mother/daughter relationships. It’s all there and Colleen nails each aspect.

You might wonder since I’ve seemingly done nothing but gush over this book why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Well, there were instances where I knew what was coming. I’m the reader who usually doesn’t, but in this case I did. That’s not to say that I wasn’t surprised because at times I was. I might have figured out one element, but Colleen managed to throw in some piece I wasn’t expecting, which made this book really hard to put down.

If you haven’t read a Hoover book before, what are you waiting for?! Regretting You would be a great place to start.

NetGalley provided me with an advanced copy of this book.
