Allegiance of Honor is #15 in Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series but was  talked about as the beginning of a new story arc. This felt…different from all the rest of the books. Not bad different or good different – just different! There were so many things I loved about this book though and fans of Singh shouldn’t be disappointed.

This book felt both like a wrap-up to the overarching story from the first 14 books in this series and the beginning to the next story arc. We basically get to see every couple from past books make appearances and catch up with them in small ways. Which I love to see because I’m a huge fan of epilogues – and this somewhat felt like a huge epilogue sprinkled with new faces and plots.

Getting to revisit my favorite couple was great – I loved to see baby Naya changing into her animal, and the twins being rambunctious and Adria and Riaz get a nice appearance and new closure. Those are just a few of the ones I was excited to see. The pupcubs arrival was a large portion of the plot in this one and it was pretty perfect since that encompasses both of the main packs and their love of family. (Also it was freaking adorable),

The newest plot point were interesting – I enjoyed the new issues brought in by Ming once again and seeing how Hawke dealt with them as well as the issues with the PsyNet. The BlackSea pack was a big part of the plot as well and I liked seeing different packs come into the fray.

However, with revisiting so many of the couples from the past as well as bringing in the new plot points here and there. Plus having BlackSea pack members in it, there were so many characters to keep track of that I was starting to get lost – and I’ve read every single book. It was just a bit overwhelming. I’m hoping that this was just due to it being both a wrap-up to the previous story lines and introduction to the new ones. One of my favorite things about this series is that we get to see previous couples over and over again but seeing all of them at once like this was just a lot. I still enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one and know that it will be wonderful!
