Lies is all about the ending. The journey there is not the best journey you’ll ever go on … But the ending!!
Joe Lynch is a happily married man, devoted father and respected teacher until he spots his wife’s car entering a hotel parking garage. Joe’s life begins to unravel as he learns how his wife has lied to him and put their entire family in jeopardy. The man she met at the hotel has vanished, and as the police investigate his disappearance, suspicion falls on Joe.
This story started off well enough but is very slow through the middle. However, that slow middle is made up for a bit with a surprise ending. Wow! Maybe you would have seen it coming, but this reader did not and that made this book worth the slow, plodding journey. For a debut novel, it’s not bad and means I’ll give Logan’s next book a try. Here’s hoping he’ll improve the lack luster middle and give me that surprise feeling all the way through next time.
Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.
