Book Review + GIVEAWAY: Love to Win by Lisa Ricard Claro

I have one complaint about this book. It ended! *sobs* Love to Win is the third book in Claro’s Fireflies series and is as good, if not better, than the first two books. Continue reading “Book Review + GIVEAWAY: Love to Win by Lisa Ricard Claro”

Book Review: Sweet Tomorrows by Debbie Macomber

Sweet Tomorrows is the fifth and final book in Macomber’s Rose Harbor series. I’m usually a stickler and recommend that readers read a series in order. I stand by that advice but I’ll admit (and it’s hard to) that Sweet Tomorrows can be read without having read the previous books. Macomber does an excellent job of filling in the details so that the reader won’t feel lost. The series is a good one, so do go read the other books if you haven’t. Book Review: The Name of the Wind & The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

You might ask yourself why on earth is this chick reviewing a book that came out years ago? That she read years ago. That we’ve all read. Book Review: His Royal Secret by Lilah Pace

I love Lilah Pace’s writing, I read her Asking for More books and thought her writing was captivating so I was so excited for this LGBT book to come out. This book is exactly what I needed! Since I read it I’ve been randomly recommending it to everyone I know who reads male/male romance.  Continue reading “Book Review: His Royal Secret by Lilah Pace”

Book Review: Coming Home by Karen Kingsbury

Sunday Comics: Batman The Killing Joke a Graphic Novel and Movie Discussion

If you are looking for “controversial” and “Batman”, look no further than 1988’s Batman: The Killing Joke, which continues to spark debate and Twitter fire to this day.  A huge resurgence of the story’s controversy come from the current release of an animated film adaptation, which has been been both highly fan demanded and detractor opposed for years.  It all seems fitting for a story about dichotomy, dependency and “one bad day”.

Books and Buddy Reads: Stars of Fortune and Bay of Sighs by Nora Roberts

Are you in a book club? Do you ever participate in group/buddy reads? Does reading a book with others change your overall perception of the work? I recently read the first two books of Nora Roberts’ The Guardian’s Trilogy, Stars of Fortune and Bay of Sighs, with friends and it made me wonder…
