Book Review: Wait For It by Mariana Zapata

Wait For It is Mariana Zapata’s 6th book and I’ve read all of them this year. She’s a self published author that quickly became one that I heard about in a variety of reader groups that became really hard to ignore! And when I gave in to read the first one – Kulti – the rest quickly followed. It’s the same for most people who read her books because they just draw you in and Wait For It is no different from the rest. Continue reading “Book Review: Wait For It by Mariana Zapata”

Book Review: Trust by Jana Aston

Trust is book 3 in Jana Aston’s Wrong Trilogy but the first I’ve reviewed on here – mainly because I read them insanely quickly! A bookish friend of mine kept telling me I had to read these and that I would love Trust in particular. When I finally gave in I read all three in as many days because they’re really well-written, laugh out loud funny, but really touching all at the same time. The combination is really unbeatable. Book Review: Daring Fate by Megan Erickson

Megan Erickson writes a little bit of everything – her New Adult Bowler University series is great, her m/m Trust the Focus series is one of the most recommended ones I hear about, and her co-authored Strong Signal is among my favorites of the last year. And then she had to go and announce that she was writing in a whole new genre – paranormal *and* m/m. Two of my favorite genres combined, I had no doubts that she would be able to do it well since she seems to be able to cross over the different genres pretty easily. Book Review: Heartless by Marissa Meyer

This was the book that I started immediately upon returning from BEA back in May. And the one that I was willing to wait in line for a really long time both to get a ticket for the autograph and then again to actually GET the autograph of the author. And as a fangirl…it was completely worth it! Marissa Meyer was really sweet and nice to the fans in front of me and me as well. I told her how much I loved The Lunar Chronicles and particularly the audio versions and she agreed that the narration was amazing. Continue reading “Book Review: Heartless by Marissa Meyer”

Book Review: Letters of Note by Shaun Usher

Could there a book that, in some way, appeals to everyone? If it is possible, I’d lay a solid bet that Letters of Note could be that book. Continue reading “Book Review: Letters of Note by Shaun Usher”

Book Review: Triple Shot by Ross Klavan, Tim O’Mara, and Charles Salzberg

For the fans of noir, Triple Shot is a dark ride.

Book Review: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

You know how a book can be recommended over and over to you by people who know you? And you kind of worry in the back of your mind that you won’t like the book and then what? Yeah, this book was recommended to me repeatedly but holy crap it was love at first reading, hitting on multiple tropes I love and ones I didn’t know I loved! Sunday Comics: Hero Bear and the Kid

I want to start off by making a few things clear. First off, I am officially obsessed with Mike Kunkel’s Hero Bear and the Kid, and have been for years. Secondly, I think you should be obsessed too–it’s one of the best all-ages comics there is.
