I was hooked from the first page! I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished Behind the Falls. Continue reading “Book Review + Giveaway: Cure by Brenda Ernst Zalegowski”

Book Review: Unraveling Josh by Edie Danford

I read this in a group read and it was so much fun! I really loved the book from the opening scenes and that continues pretty much throughout the book. This is the third in the Ellery College series but can definitely be read as a stand alone as there isn’t much overlap. Both main characters made me love them but for different reasons – which is always a sign for a great book! Continue reading “Book Review: Unraveling Josh by Edie Danford”

Book Review: The Memory of Us by Camille Di Maio

I was totally blown away by Camille Di Maio’s debut novel, The Memory of Us. It is my favorite book so far this year. Continue reading “Book Review: The Memory of Us by Camille Di Maio”

Book Review: Beta Test by Annabeth Albert

I love all things Annabeth Albert! Seriously, I just fall in love with her writing more and more with each book and series of hers that I read. Beta Test is definitely no exception to this. I’ve also read a few books in the ‘gaymer’ genre and this genre just works so well for me which is surprising to me since I don’t have much interest in that area. Or maybe I just read really amazing authors! Continue reading “Book Review: Beta Test by Annabeth Albert”

Book Review: The Island House by Nancy Thayer

Dottie and Jennifer have similar tastes in books so you’ll often see them reviewing the same books. But sometimes they have differing opinions. This is one of those times. The world would be pretty boring if we all loved the same books, right? Today they are chatting about Nancy Thayer’s The Island House. While they both enjoyed the book, Dottie liked it a bit more than Jennifer. Keep reading to find out what they have to say about the book.

Sunday Comics: Mouse Guard by David Petersen

“In the world of Mouse Guard, mice struggle to live safely and prosper amongst harsh conditions and a host of predators. Thus the Mouse Guard was formed: more than just soldiers, they are guides for common mice looking to journey without confrontation from one village to another. They see to their duty with fearless dedication so that they may not simply exist, but truly live.”

I’m happy to introduce our newest ongoing feature, Sunday Comics, a semimonthly series focusing on comic books, graphic novels, and other stories told through a combination of visual and written media. Continue reading “Sunday Comics: Mouse Guard by David Petersen”

Book Review: Better Get To Livin’ by Sally Kilpatrick

Better Get To Livin’ is the second book that I’ve read by Sally Kilpatrick, and I must admit, it is as sweet, funny and charming as the first, The Happy Hour Choir. Continue reading “Book Review: Better Get To Livin’ by Sally Kilpatrick”

Audiobook Review: A Necessary End by Holly Brown

I chose this audiobook based solely on the narrator. I fell in love with Khristine Hvam when I first listened to her narration of Daughter and Smoke and Bone a few years ago and this might be the 5th or 6th book I’ve bought just to listen to her narrate. She makes me enjoy just about any type of book I listen to and I’ve never been disappointed yet! But this book was even better – a happy surprise where the plot was great and surprising at every turn. Combined with Hvam’s narration it made for a wonderful overall experience. Is it wrong to admit that I like reading true crime books? When I was approved for this book on NetGalley I was eager to dive in. Continue reading “Book Review: True Crime Addict by James Renner”
