I’m always interested to see how a male author handles a love story. In If I Forget You, Thomas Christopher Greene made me happy.
He tells a beautiful story of Margot and Henry, two college students from completely different backgrounds. She, a very wealthy, society girl who summers in the “Vineyard”. He, at school on an athletic scholarship, the son of Polish immigrants, who aspires to become a poet. Although they meet and fall in love, this love was not meant to be due to such social class differences. What a shame because they had a love that I believe everyone tries to have.
Told in alternating character chapters and time periods, Thomas Greene takes us on this wonderful journey of love found, love tragically lost, and the possibility of love returning. Although this was not a very long book, I was totally satisfied and fulfilled by the story. From beginning to end, I was so engrossed and entertained by his beautiful writing.
