I was looking forward to this YA book – it was supposed to have some teen angst, some mystery, some suspense. So a little bit of everything. I’m a fan of all of those things, so pretty much right up my alley, right? Wrong. So, wrong. To say I was disappointed in this book feels like a stretch. I was bored by it which is the worst thing I can say about a book. If I hate a book at least I can say it’s memorable. Not the case here. Let’s start this review off on the right foot… I was a huge fan of Star Trek the Next Generation (a.k.a. STSG). I named my first cat Spot after Data’s ginger tabby. But I really tried to approach this review with an open and partial mind.
There is something kind of awesome about stumbling upon a book you love. Don’t get me wrong – I completely adore book recommendations – but finding a book and giving it a try and then discovering you love it as you get more and more into it is just one of those experiences that will never grow old. This book was that for me. I found it on the Kindle Lending Library and thought I’d give it a try, and then proceeded to read it all in one setting!
