Book Review: American Psychosis by E. Torrey Fuller

Where do I start? If you’re like me and enjoy historical non-fiction, then this one you may want to pick up. Keep in mind it’s about mental health treatment in the United States starting in the mid-20th century.

Book Review: The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett

I was looking forward to this YA book – it was supposed to have some teen angst, some mystery, some suspense. So a little bit of everything. I’m a fan of all of those things, so pretty much right up my alley, right? Wrong. So, wrong. To say I was disappointed in this book feels like a stretch. I was bored by it which is the worst thing I can say about a book. If I hate a book at least I can say it’s memorable. Not the case here. A Dog’s Purpose is the story of one dog’s search for his purpose over the course of several lives. It touches on the quest for an answer to life’s most basic question: Why are we here? Continue reading “Book & Movie Review + Giveaway: A Dog’s Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron”

Book Review: Echoes in Death by JD Robb

A few weeks ago I was having the crappiest day ever at work and just when I’d decided that pulling the fire alarm so that we could close early was a viable option, the UPS guy dropped off a promo box with an advanced copy of Echoes in Death. Book Review: Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Good Boy is a spin-off from one of my favorite male/male books ever – Him and the follow up Us. If you’ve read those (and really, if you haven’t GO NOW) then you’re familiar with the wonderful Jamie and Wes. As well as my favorite Blake, their neighbor. Good Boy is the story of Blake and Jess, who happens to be Jamie’s sister. Continue reading “Book Review: Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy”

Book Review: Hit and Run by Jason Moore

I wanted to read this book for two reasons. The author is from the same small county in Virginia that I am and the summary of the book sounded like something I’d love to read. So here we are. Continue reading “Book Review: Hit and Run by Jason Moore”

Book Review: Just a Geek by Wil Wheaton

Let’s start this review off on the right foot… I was a huge fan of Star Trek the Next Generation (a.k.a. STSG). I named my first cat Spot after Data’s ginger tabby. But I really tried to approach this review with an open and partial mind.

Book Review: Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday

There is something kind of awesome about stumbling upon a book you love. Don’t get me wrong – I completely adore book recommendations – but finding a book and giving it a try and then discovering you love it as you get more and more into it is just one of those experiences that will never grow old. This book was that for me. I found it on the Kindle Lending Library and thought I’d give it a try, and then proceeded to read it all in one setting! Book Review: Diablo Lake: Protected by Lauren Dane

Lauren Dane is one of those prolific writers that I feel like I can name a trope and she has a series or book that contains exactly what a reader may be looking for. Rock Stars? The Hurley Boys! Motorcycles? Ink & Chrome! Small Town? Petal! Menage? Err…there are a few lol. Super strong heroine – take your pick! Continue reading “Book Review: Diablo Lake: Protected by Lauren Dane”
