Book Review: Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen

This is book #5 in Sarina Bowen’s True North series and can be read as a standalone. For better understanding of the characters and more nuance obviously reading the rest of the books is good but I don’t feel that you’d be lost at all with this one, which I’m sure is intentional on the author’s part. Book Review: Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen

I’m pretty sure my Sarina Bowen love is established for all here in the blog so I won’t bother reiterating it and boring all of you yet again…but I love her writing. Brooklynaire is loosely attached to her Brooklyn Bruiser series – in that it’s connected to the series and those who’ve read the previous books have been wanting this book BUT if you picked this book up cold, never having read the earlier ones you would be completely fine. I think that is incredibly smart and must have been so hard to do! This couple wasn’t so established that fans were dying for them, but just teased enough that we wondered. I love that a new reader could pick this up and not really be missing anything. I know that is a constant question, at least in the romance community, and here is a deft way to answer that. Book Review: Bountiful by Sarina Bowen

Sarina Bowen’s True North series is one of my favorites. It has my combination of a few amazing qualities – heart, humor, well developed characters, and a solid world that I can get lost in quite easily. The previous three books were ones that I’ve adored for individual reasons. Each book had things that I either connected with or was so well written that I immediately needed to tell other to read so I could discuss. Bountiful is the latest addition to the True North family and it’s really no different – in a great way. Continue reading “Book Review: Bountiful by Sarina Bowen”

Book Review: Temporary by Sarina Bowen & Sarah Mayberry

So co written books are seriously my catnip apparently. I can think of half a dozen pairs of authors that write together that I adore! Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell. Avon Gale and Roan Parrish. Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy…and now Sarina Bowen and Sarah Mayberry joins that list with this romantic comedy book of their, Temporary. I was super excited when they announced it. I’m a well known Sarina fan because hello, who isn’t? But I’ve also been a big Sarah fan for years! So I was all around reccing my favorites of hers. If you haven’t read Her Favorite Temptation or Her Best Worst Mistake…run, don’t walk to get them. OH and Satisfaction and Anticipation– holy crap, you are in for a treat! Book Review: Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

Good Boy is a spin-off from one of my favorite male/male books ever – Him and the follow up Us. If you’ve read those (and really, if you haven’t GO NOW) then you’re familiar with the wonderful Jamie and Wes. As well as my favorite Blake, their neighbor. Good Boy is the story of Blake and Jess, who happens to be Jamie’s sister. Continue reading “Book Review: Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy”

Book Review: Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen

This book marks a new series from one of my favorites, Sarina Bowen. It’s set in Vermont and focuses on outdoorsy men and farming. Griff is definitely the hottest farmer I’ve ever read about,  not that I’ve read about many! But now I really want to read about more because Bowen does what she does best here – weaves in witty banter, sexual chemistry, and then manages to teach a few things at the same time.
