Book Review: Prime Minister by Ainsely Booth

Prime Minister is a book that I *want* to love. The hero is the Prime Minster of Canada, incredibly smart, funny, handsome and is hiding a kinky side from his country. He falls hard for a college intern and tries to navigate introducing kink to her, hiding the relationship from the country, and just a new relationship and being a Prime Minister in general. If that sounds like a lot for one book to conquer that’s because it is! Continue reading “Book Review: Prime Minister by Ainsely Booth”

Book Review: Unraveling Josh by Edie Danford

I read this in a group read and it was so much fun! I really loved the book from the opening scenes and that continues pretty much throughout the book. This is the third in the Ellery College series but can definitely be read as a stand alone as there isn’t much overlap. Both main characters made me love them but for different reasons – which is always a sign for a great book! Continue reading “Book Review: Unraveling Josh by Edie Danford”

Book Review: Beta Test by Annabeth Albert

I love all things Annabeth Albert! Seriously, I just fall in love with her writing more and more with each book and series of hers that I read. Beta Test is definitely no exception to this. I’ve also read a few books in the ‘gaymer’ genre and this genre just works so well for me which is surprising to me since I don’t have much interest in that area. Or maybe I just read really amazing authors! Continue reading “Book Review: Beta Test by Annabeth Albert”

Audiobook Review: A Necessary End by Holly Brown

I chose this audiobook based solely on the narrator. I fell in love with Khristine Hvam when I first listened to her narration of Daughter and Smoke and Bone a few years ago and this might be the 5th or 6th book I’ve bought just to listen to her narrate. She makes me enjoy just about any type of book I listen to and I’ve never been disappointed yet! But this book was even better – a happy surprise where the plot was great and surprising at every turn. Combined with Hvam’s narration it made for a wonderful overall experience. Book Review: Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein

Title: Never Sweeter

Author: Charlotte Stein

Rating: 2 Very conflicted Stars

Reviewer: Melinda

This book is in the New Adult genre, which is unusual for Stein, as she usually writes more straight forward adult romances. But I am a fan of NA and of Charlotte Stein so I was excited to read this one. To be honest I didn’t even read the synopsis because I like her writing so much – she writes so beautifully and with an erotic edge to it.  Continue reading “Book Review: Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein”

Ten Questions with KJ Charles

Today’s 10 Questions installment features KJ Charles. KJ Charles is a writer and freelance editor. She lives in London with her husband, two kids, an out-of-control garden and an increasingly murderous cat. KJ writes mostly romance, gay and straight, frequently historical, and usually with some fantasy or horror in there. Continue reading “Ten Questions with KJ Charles”

Book Review: Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras

Title: Kaleidoscope Hearts

Author: Claire Contreras

Rating: 3 Stars

Reviewer: Melinda

Unsurprisingly I like to read reviews before I read certain books. This book had been on my Kindle for a while so I looked up the reviews before I started reading and it had a ton of 5 star reviews, citing one of my favorite tropes – the brother’s best friend. Which just served to make me pretty excited to start it. I was a little surprised when I did and realized the MC was a widow. But I just expected/hoped that meant there might be even more depth to this novel than I was originally thinking there would be.  Continue reading “Book Review: Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras”

Audiobook Review: Unraveled by Jen Frederick

Title: Unraveled

Author: Jen Frederick

Narrators: Stella Bloom, Andrew Eiden

Rating: 4 Stars

Reviewer: Melinda

So this is just a Jen Frederick happy week! I know I just reviewed Paper Princess yesterday but coincidentally I also finished Unraveled on audio around the same time and wanted to get my review up for it sooner rather than later, so let’s just consider this Jen Frederick week okay? I’ve read Unraveled when it first came out back in January 2014 and loved it so when I found out the whole Woodlands series were being released on audio I was ridiculously excited. If you like audiobooks you should be excited too! Continue reading “Audiobook Review: Unraveled by Jen Frederick”
