My last review was about the NA genre and about how I love the genre – and don’t read per what’s popular at the moment. The Woodlands series by Jen Frederick is another series that I absolutely love in this genre and is actually what introduced me to this author. I pretty much love all of what she writes but her NA work has been my favorite in the past. Continue reading “Book Review: Unwritten by Jen Frederick”
Genres have a natural upswing and downswing of their popularity but I don’t always read according to what’s popular. I read according to what I’m in the mood for. New Adult was pretty popular a few years ago and I really enjoyed the well written ones and one of the best I read was Undecided by Julianna Keyes. It was funny, smart, and had heart – which when you combine the three are pretty much the essentials. So now New Adult isn’t super popular so I’m not seeing as much of it out there, even though I’m still interested in it…enter Undeclared, the follow up to Undecided! Continue reading “Book Review: Undeclared by Julianna Keyes”
Good Boy is a spin-off from one of my favorite male/male books ever – Him and the follow up Us. If you’ve read those (and really, if you haven’t GO NOW) then you’re familiar with the wonderful Jamie and Wes. As well as my favorite Blake, their neighbor. Good Boy is the story of Blake and Jess, who happens to be Jamie’s sister. Continue reading “Book Review: Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy”
There is something kind of awesome about stumbling upon a book you love. Don’t get me wrong – I completely adore book recommendations – but finding a book and giving it a try and then discovering you love it as you get more and more into it is just one of those experiences that will never grow old. This book was that for me. I found it on the Kindle Lending Library and thought I’d give it a try, and then proceeded to read it all in one setting! Continue reading “Book Review: Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday”
Lauren Dane is one of those prolific writers that I feel like I can name a trope and she has a series or book that contains exactly what a reader may be looking for. Rock Stars? The Hurley Boys! Motorcycles? Ink & Chrome! Small Town? Petal! Menage? Err…there are a few lol. Super strong heroine – take your pick! Continue reading “Book Review: Diablo Lake: Protected by Lauren Dane”
2 of my trusted book chat friends have raved about this book on and off for the last year. Then when I was looking for a new audiobook I found that Christine Lakin narrated it. I’m a big fan of hers – I’d listened to her narrate the Parasitology books and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown. All of those books were 5 star audiobooks and her narration was a big part of it. Wait For It is Mariana Zapata’s 6th book and I’ve read all of them this year. She’s a self published author that quickly became one that I heard about in a variety of reader groups that became really hard to ignore! And when I gave in to read the first one – Kulti – the rest quickly followed. It’s the same for most people who read her books because they just draw you in and Wait For It is no different from the rest. Continue reading “Book Review: Wait For It by Mariana Zapata”
This is a book that I’ve had on my Kindle for awhile and just never got around to reading it for no particular reason. I hate when that happens and with each new release my TBR gets longer and longer so these kinds of books sort of get pushed aside. I finally chose to get to it this past week to see if it’s a series I’d be interested in continuing. Continue reading “Book Review: Liquid Lies by Hanna Martine”
Trust is book 3 in Jana Aston’s Wrong Trilogy but the first I’ve reviewed on here – mainly because I read them insanely quickly! A bookish friend of mine kept telling me I had to read these and that I would love Trust in particular. When I finally gave in I read all three in as many days because they’re really well-written, laugh out loud funny, but really touching all at the same time. The combination is really unbeatable.
